Card in a Box Tutorial

Here is the tutorial I promised.  I love this invention, though not my own,. I have enjoyed making these little creations.

Here we go.

Score and cut paper according to picture using a 6 1/2 x 11 1/12 (12 x 12 needed) piece of card stock paper.  Long score at 3".  Short scores at 2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4, and 11.  Measurements can be altered for
a 5 1/2 by 11 (8 1/2 x 11 needed) piece of paper.  Construction is the same.

Fold card in half and tape down tab to inside.  This is the easiest way to make sure the card lays flat when you glue down the tab.

Using 1 x 8 strip of card stock, score on 3/4,  3 1/2, 4 1/2, 7 1/4.  Fold in fancy "V" shape.

Put adhesive on the tabs and flat spot in the middle.   Making sure the strip is about level  with top edge of fold then adhere support to card.  The tabs go against the corners and then eye ball the center to space it even. There is no bottom in the card box.

TIP:  Write and adhere your note or sentiments to back side of card before decorating. :)  ( I didn't)  Or else it is difficult to write on a lumpy card. :)

All that's left is the decorating! :)  Add decorations to tabs to create a 3-D effect.  Here is how I did mine.

Thanks for looking!  Have fun!  Please feel free to ask any questions or join me for an in home demonstration.

Blessings,
Barbara
