Card in a Box Tutorial

Here is the tutorial I promised.  I love this invention, though not my own,. I have enjoyed making these little creations.

Here we go.

Score and cut paper according to picture using a 6 1/2 x 11 1/12 (12 x 12 needed) piece of card stock paper.  Long score at 3".  Short scores at 2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4, and 11.  Measurements can be altered for
a 5 1/2 by 11 (8 1/2 x 11 needed) piece of paper.  Construction is the same.

Fold card in half and tape down tab to inside.  This is the easiest way to make sure the card lays flat when you glue down the tab.

Using 1 x 8 strip of card stock, score on 3/4,  3 1/2, 4 1/2, 7 1/4.  Fold in fancy "V" shape.

Put adhesive on the tabs and flat spot in the middle.   Making sure the strip is about level  with top edge of fold then adhere support to card.  The tabs go against the corners and then eye ball the center to space it even. There is no bottom in the card box.

TIP:  Write and adhere your note or sentiments to back side of card before decorating. :)  ( I didn't)  Or else it is difficult to write on a lumpy card. :)

All that's left is the decorating! :)  Add decorations to tabs to create a 3-D effect.  Here is how I did mine.

Thanks for looking!  Have fun!  Please feel free to ask any questions or join me for an in home demonstration.

Blessings,
Barbara

Christmas

What I love about Christmas!
ALL THE MIRACLES!
1.  God and His plan of Salvation came in the form of a baby!
2.  Two women in the same family had miraculous births that were central to God's plan.
3.  Mary's virgin birth to the Lord Jesus Christ.
4.  Elizabeth was to old to naturally have a child, yet gave birth to John the Baptist.
5.  God comforted Joseph with a dream, so that he could take Mary unashamedly, as his wife.
6.  The Star!  Wow, in all of eternity, the birth of the Lord Jesus was perfectly timed and declared in all the universe, to direct wisemen to the Savior King.  Why?  For many reasons, I guess, but   could one reason be another confirmation to Mary and Joseph that what was really happening to them was of God?
7.  God gave the lowest of the low a glimpse of glory by allowing the shepherds to see and hear myriads of angels proclaiming the Savior's birth.  God specifically gave the shepherds the message!
8.  Mary and Elizabeth lived many miles apart, how did Elizabeth know Mary was pregnant with the Savior when she showed up at her home, unannounced?  Wow!!!!!!!
9.  Anna in the temple!
10.  Simeon in the temple!

God's plan is so amazing, so profound, so miraculous, so AWESOME...I never grow tired of it, year after year.  I love it!  Yet, Christ does not command us to remember His birth, but rather His death.  Luke 22:19, Lord instituted last supper "Do this" He said..."in remembrance of Me." 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 Paul reminds us to keep the command of the Lord and in doing so, we remember His death until He comes.  Why?  Because Salvation is in the death, not the birth.  The Lord is more concerned with repentance and conversion that with mere appreciation for the manger scene.  Beloved....Christ our Salvation and way to God is Born!!!!!  Hallelujah!!!!!
